Memorial Day, May 28, 2012

I’ve been fairly blue today, which is ridiculous on a three day weekend, but can be explained away as post vacation blues, I suppose. My Mom and I just returned last Thursday from a wonderfully relaxing and fun trip to Las Vegas – just the girls together. We went to see Dancing with the Stars and we toured Hoover Dam, we swam and sunbathed and shopped, we had great food, saw the sights and gambled a little and I even came back with a little more cash than I brought; nothing life-changing, but fun! Of course, it helps that Mommy insists upon paying for almost everything, though the time-share is mine so I suppose I did contribute my share, but it feels like I’m free-loading when I’m so cash-poor. We had a few discussions about the money, or lack of it on my part. Understanding that the reason I’m so low on funds is due almost entirely to having to cut back at work, being unable to work School Breaks, extra hours or Inservice days because of the increasingly difficult relationship with my director this year, doesn’t make it any easier to accept not pulling my weight or paying my way. Still trying to win that Lottery.

Anyway, I have no real excuse for my moody blues. I was supposed to get some grocery shopping done today, or yesterday, or the day before yesterday, but I haven’t been able to motivate myself enough to get out of the house. Oh, well – I won’t starve, but it might get a little boring around meal time. I have pasta …or pasta …or there’s always pasta! NTM ramen as the ultimate fall-back – the price of being lazy. I did get the dishes and laundry done!

Theres no real point to this post – just musing and trying to get into the habit of writing more consistently (read at all)

BTW, I’ve recently decided to separate my blogs, keep this one as my personal ponderings and I’ve set up a new blog page for EL Extended Care. As it is so close to the end of the school year, I won’t start posting on the other blog until later in the summer, so if you are an EL parent, check in around mid-August.
