I realize I keep promising to blog regularly, and then fail drastically in that regard…blah blah blah
So, THIS has been one of the most amazing summers of my life!!! My last entry described some of our Zoo Training – a barrel of laughs and a great deal of production and team building – and now going in to the last week of Summer Camp I wish it would never end! I can’t stress enough how wonderful the experience has been, from making new friends with whom I expect to keep in touch the rest of my life to the most supportive work environment ever to the most social group of people I’ve ever worked with – I still feel like I’m living a dream and I can’t stop smiling! Considering what I’ve had to put up with for the last year, I am absolutely in HEAVEN! The key is very simple – Woodland Park Zoo really cares about the employees, the children, the guests, the animals and the environment – no lip service, no false promises, just true support and high standards met and exceeded. Amazing! Exhilarating! Affirming! Relief!
Okay, I could gush on for pages; suffice it to say that being a Zooper Day Camp Educational Instructor has been incredibly rewarding. So much so, I’ve found the self-confidence to resign from the Children’s Center and challenge myself to start anew. I know now that I have abilities and skills which are needed out there – something my previous situation had almost beat out of me – and I have faith that I will find something wonderful.
Just doing some Blog catch ups and read through yours. I’m sorry you’ve been having a tough time at your education job. I never worked at one place that long but I’ve had the problem of negative co-workers and it sucks. The stress really does a number on your mind and body. I’m on meds to help with my body and I still see a counselor about every other month to help with my stress. It’s gotten alot better but even one event can knock me back. It’s like the body remembers the negative and runs with it quicker than I can stop it š But I try. Havin at least one main supporter is the key I think. My hubby is my big help.
And I’m glad to hear that you’re lovin the job at the zoo. Sounds like a fun and positive environment. One that will pick your spirits up each day. Pray that your time there is enjoyable as long as you are there.
And as for a more permanent job, all I can say is the usual Good Luck and Prayers you find one that makes you happy and pays the bills.
