I’m grateful for The Everett Clinic (and to my mom, who always knows best). Yesterday afternoon I had called work to let them know I would be out another day and I was reminded that when out at least three days you must provide a Dr’s note on return. Despite having had access to health insurance for months, I’d procrastinated and now found myself without a primary care physician late on a Friday afternoon before a Holiday weekend. Panic! Too muzzy-headed to make good decisions and too weak to drive anywhere, I surrendered to my mom who took control (as moms do). She had just driven from her home in Snohomish to bring me supplies and groceries, had gotten all the way home when I called in tears and she turned right around and came back, drove me out to the Everett Clinic Walk-in of Shoreline. The staff were fast, kind and so helpful. A swab confirmed I had Influenza A, a scrip was called in for Tamiflu, and a Dr’s note preventing me from returning to work until Tuesday secured. I think I know where I want to find my primary care provider now!
