365 Gratitude Project – Day 27: Holocaust Remembrance Day

January 27, 2017

Today is World Holocaust Remembrance Day and I’m grateful that we can look back on  January 27, 1945 when Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration and death camp, was liberated by the Red Army and trust that it will never happen again. We must keep in mind the horrors that were perpetrated in the past to secure a future in which we have learned not to repeat the same mistakes. Please take a moment today to remember the events and actions which led to the mass genocide of Nazi Germany, celebrate the day of liberation and do not forget its lessons.
