I’m grateful for Birthday surprises – yesterday while I was at work I suddenly see someone walking up to my window with a gift bag and a vase of three beautiful roses – my mom drove all the way from Snohomish to bring me birthday gifts because she wanted me to have them on my birthday (we still plan to celebrate later in the week). I was so pleased!

Later in the afternoon she texted me that my Auntie Bette had arrived at her house a day early and they extended an invitation to come out for dinner, just the three of us. I hadn’t planned anything for my evening – this Birthday found me a little at a loss – last year I was still with my ex and it was a bit painful thinking back to happier times. So I accepted the invitation and we three single ladies had dinner and played Skip-bo afterwards – very fun! Spontaneity is a good thing.
