Today was a day to celebrate women, not that we don’t realize women’s worth the other 364 days of the year, but this year has special significance in light of the misogyny and crude behavior toward women of our sitting POTUS. Women from all over the world put down their labors and joined together to mark this day: they marched on the White House, they rallied for women’s rights, they wore red in solidarity, they celebrated with music and with speeches. Michelle Obama spoke to the education of girls, House democrats walked out to support equal rights, they even celebrated in space!

One of my favorite images from the day was of a bronze statue erected on Wall Street of a young girl, strong, confident and victorious, placed before the statue of a charging bull in defiance!
