365 Gratitude Project – Day 105: Bunny Bounce

April 15, 2017

What an amazing day! Beautiful weather! Smiles all around! And 11,553 guests in attendance for Bunny Bounce, Woodland Park Zoo’s annual Egg Hunt!

As Admissions staff, we were prepared – all hands on deck (and this was only the West Gate crew!) – ready to meet and greet and guide and answer questions: where do we go? how does this work? how long does it last? where is the closest restroom? what’s going on here? Each staffer was assigned to one job for the entire day, ticketing or membership, carousel, breaker or access – I was at access manning the gate. I was a little trepidatious at the outset – all day access means being on your feet all day – but we were kept really busy and focused on making the work more important than the impact on ourselves and the day flew by. Our management staff also provided food and goodies for the day, so we were well provisioned.

As always, our crew was helpful and competent, a well oiled machine! Go Team!!

Easter Bunny

poet unknown

Easter bunny soft and white
Hopping quickly out of sight.
Thank you for the eggs you bring
At Easter time to welcome spring.

Yellow eggs and blue and red
In the grass and flower bed
We will hunt them everywhere
Is it really you who put them there?
