365 Gratitude Project – Day 128: Coloring

I’ve spent several days this last week covering Guest Services shifts which has given me the time and opportunity to pick up my coloring book again after many months. I’ve really enjoyed playing with and blending color on this project. I wanted the sails to go from deeper and darker blues and greens to lighter as they got higher. I don’t remember what poem included the phrase “wine dark sea” but that’s what I thought of in the coloration of the water and I used darker shadows to further enhance the pattern of swirls and curves. I repeated the swirls in the sky, leaving negative space for clouds, though this is a little difficult to see in the pic below. 


 Coloring is relaxing and fun 😊
