365 Gratitude Project – Day 132: Wild Weather Day

Morning sun breaks, tattered gray clouds scudding across the sky with intermittent spats of rain. Sudden deluges, hail and wind and oh so much water. It’s awesome, as in full of awe, to see such raw power in nature and I am a willing, grateful witness. 

A coworker and I were on our lunch breaks and walking along the main loop when we heard a loud crack and turned just in time to see about half of a tree shear off and fall on one of the side paths – it took out several sections of fencing and entirely blocked the path. There were several large branches down in the park and a large tree fell across the intersection at 50th and Phinney outside the park which tied up traffic for quite awhile. Wet leaves are heavy and when the wind blows…
