Great Admissions Reading Challenge

Last year our Admissions Department at Woodland Park Zoo began a reading challenge. We chose a list of 100 books of many authors, subjects, genres and reading levels; we chose books from all over the world, different time periods, classics to contemporary and no author could be repeated. Each book was assigned a point level, mostly based on the Accelerated Reading program, and had to be begun no earlier than 12:00am November 1 and finished no later than 11:59pm December 31, 2016. I personally read 29 books for a grand total of 462.5 points and won the bragging rights for a year.

However, that was LAST year! This year we’ve put together a new list of 100 titles, some continuations of last year’s selections, same general rules, although we’ve extended the time frame to three months to account for the slower winter season: November 1, 2017-January 31, 2018.

Here’s the Current List – I’ll be posting my progress as I go – feel free to read along!
