After a two year journey fighting cancer, I find I need to make some changes in my life; though my last surgery was in July, I’m still on the healing track for at least another 3-4 months. While I recover, I’m realizing I need to take things a little slower, allow myself to rest even as I stretch toward full health, but I still need to make a living. I don’t feel up to going back to a 9-5 job yet, I’ve considered many stay at home or remote work ideas, and some self assessment has been suggesting I try something completely different and see where it takes me. I’ve always loved color, art, design and creating things with my hands, so I’m going to try starting a small home business making quilts to offer on Etsy. I’m hoping to get to work cutting and piecing and sewing and build up some inventory in the next couple months as I get stronger, then give this idea a try starting in January 2025.
